I am always more motivated about whatever fitness or wellness program I am working when I have a team/friends/family working it with me. That's what I love about social media - it is a way to have a support group no matter what.
I have a group of friends that work with me on wellness via Facebook - we all stay connected, and we post questions, ideas, support whenever we wish. I try to post at least three to four times a week (recipes, workout ideas, tips from health experts...), but others in the group are awesome. I have a friend who is doing four 5K runs this year with her family! Another living in New York just purchased a bike for her main source of transportation, and is sharing her journey with all of us.
If you're interested in joining this great group, send me a message and I'll get you hooked up. Or, you can start your own group (in person or via social media). The purpose for me is to have someone who knows that I am on a journey and will check in on me to make sure I'm sticking with it, and I can do the same for them.
