I don't know about you, but I certainly know that there are days I drink WAY too much coffee. I have mostly stayed away from the energy drinks that deliver mega caffeine with or without mega sugar, because they tend to be much worse for you than coffee, and taste appalling.
As you can probably imagine, I was pretty excited when It Works announced that they were making an energy drink that was actually good for you. "Delivering genuine nutritional value while helping support the body’s ability to sustain natural energy levels, Energy is a major advance that’s changed the energy drink category forever" (It Works). This new drink is filled with vitamins and fruit juice, and will actually give you energy to last throughout your day.
"Blended with a proprietary formula, Energy
is a fusion of natural stimulants free of the jittery effects caused by
today’s leading energy drinks. It’s a mix of a full spectrum of
phytonutrients, potent antioxidant-rich polyphenols, a broad spectrum of
powerful B vitamins to support brain function, and concentrated Green
Tea Extract" (It Works). This baby has 100 milligrams of caffeine - about as much as a single cup of coffee - but it's caffeine from green tea, so it's the best kind of caffeine, and it's supported by all the brain and body food in Energy to give you the boost you need to be your most effective all day long.
Energy will be available to order here beginning on March 5, 2015. Feel free to contact me with any questions that you may have. You can reach me via email to wellnessgirl.itworks@gmail.com.

These days we all want more from our snacks, which is just one reason I love the Greens Chew. These tiny chewy snacks are filled with nutrients (see details below), and manage to taste like a berry starburst. When I get that mid-afternoon sweet craving, they are the perfect thing to stop it in its tracks because these treats ARE sweet and quite tasty. I just love knowing that they are also healthy.
The other thing I love about them is that they are so great for stabilizing my blood sugar. If it's been too long between meals, and I start to feel a little bit off, I can pull one out and I feel better fast. But I don't feel like I have spiked my blood sugar. I feel better, and I do not feel the need for a snack right away. (This is great on days when I have a migraine and my whole system is thrown off.) The Greens Chew packs a powerful punch to
support your overall health and well being.
Boosts yourbody’s natural defenses against free radical damage
Supports healthy nutrition and digestion with prebiotic dietary fiber
Contains the antioxidant strength of 20 cartons of blueberries
Fueled by pTeroPure® to help maintain healthy blood pressure levels and promote heart health

The past couple of days I have been really busy, and I haven't gotten my workout in the way I want. By the time I am finally done with all scheduled activities, I am so tired that I pretty much just do required chores and go to bed.
So I have been finding ways to build a little exercise into my day at the office. A co-worker and I try to take a 10 minute walk every day (sometimes we even take more like 25 and build a coffee run in). This is great, because we get away from the office and decompress, and come back in a better mind space for our work. We also come back refreshed and energized. It's totally a win for everyone.
Another thing that I changed up is building in simple yoga poses while I'm waiting for things. I occasionally have to stand at the copy machine to wait for it to work. Now, in addition to the plies I was doing, I do Tree Pose and arm exercises, or the Dancer Pose.
I can tell that even just a few days of this change is making a difference, because I can feel the difference in my body. My muscles respond differently as I climb stairs, telling me that they have recently been worked.
For those of you who are busy, I encourage you to find a movement practice for the times when you ordinarily stand still. See what a difference it will make in your life.

We all know that sleep is important, but if you're like me, there are probably times when you have trouble falling asleep. I did some research to find information on tips and tricks for falling asleep on those nights.

"Say you decide to go on a fast, and so you effectively starve
yourself for a week. At the end of seven days, how would you be feeling?
You'd probably be hungry, perhaps a little weak, and almost certainly
somewhat thinner. But basically you'd be fine.
Now let's say you deprive yourself of sleep for a week. Not so good.
After several days, you'd be almost completely unable to function.
That's why Amnesty International lists sleep deprivation as a form of
torture...
So why is sleep one of the first things we're willing to sacrifice as
the demands in our lives keep rising? We continue to live by a
remarkably durable myth: sleeping one hour less will give us one more
hour of productivity. In reality, the research suggests that even small amounts of sleep deprivation take a significant toll on our health, our mood, our cognitive capacity and our productivity" (The Energy Project - "Sleep is More Important than Food").
So, how much sleep do you need?
The National Sleep Foundation released a new study last week with brand new ranges by age. Keep in mind that the amount of sleep people need is different by person, but on average, this chart is true for the majority of people in each age range.
Sleeping more or less than enough has been tied to serious health conditions including cancer and psychological issues. If you are concerned that you may be sleeping an irregular amount, check with a medical professional.
Is hitting the snooze helpful?
The experts say that hitting the snooze is actually bad for us. (Although most agree that we won't think so in the moment.) Hitting the snooze will cause further interruptions in sleep cycles, which will cause us to be groggier, and increase the time it takes for us to be fully awake and completely cognizant.

Choose your guest list. A party can be as few as four friends, or as
large as fifteen or twenty. (For large groups, RSVPs become very
important, so that we can have Wrap supplies on hand).
Step 4:
Create an evite,
facebook event, or send paper invitations. I can help create these
invites if you want, just let me know. Let all of your guests know
about this exciting event you are hosting. Communicate that they can
wrap any part of their bodies from the neck down, and that the wrap is
just $25 per person.
Step 5:
The day before your party, send an email or text message to your
guests, reminding them to wear comfortable clothing that will allow
access to the part of the body they wish to wrap, and letting them know
how excited you are to see them. (Or, share contact information with
me, and I can send this message for you.)
Step 6:
On the day of the party, we'll set up together. I will arrive at
your home (or place of your choosing) early, and we will set up a "wrap
room" (a private location for folks to actually have the wrap applied)
with supplies like wraps, fab wrap, and scissors. We will set up your
main room with lots of water, the materials for my presentation
(including some yummy samples) and a gift for one lucky guest.
Step 7: Enjoy the party.
You and all your friends will get
wrapped, chat, enjoy the samples of the wonderful It Works! products,
and experience the magic of the wrap.
