A #Revolution in #energy drinks has just begun

Article by It Works Global

A revolution in energy drinks has just begun! With the new Energy, your customers may never reach for a conventional energy drink again.

Blended with a proprietary formula, Energy is a fusion of natural stimulants free of the jittery effects caused by today’s leading energy drinks. It’s a mix of a full spectrum of phytonutrients, potent antioxidant-rich polyphenols, a broad spectrum of powerful B vitamins to support brain function, and concentrated Green Tea Extract.

With crystalline fructose, which has a glycemic index of only 20, Energy is significantly healthier than other leading energy drinks.

Delivering genuine nutritional value while helping support the body’s ability to sustain natural energy levels, Energy is a major advance that’s changed the energy drink category forever.

Manageable #Resolutions

by Thea Mangels

This year I am again making small wellness resolutions, rather than a grand plan. I wrote about this same subject last January, but I think it bears repeating. (You can see the previous article here: www.norcalepiscopal.org/wellness-resolutions.)

I know that in the past, I have made New Year’s Resolutions about exercising every day, or losing a huge amount of weight. Along with a large portion of the American population, I gave up on those resolutions before January even ended.

What I’ve come to learn (and believe me, I got lots of advice to help me figure it out), is that the bigger the resolution, the harder it is to stick to. So, this year, like the  last couple of years, I am making mini-resolutions. I don’t have to make one resolution for the whole year. I can start with one, and when I complete it, or it becomes a part of my lifestyle, I can make a new one.

My resolution that I am starting first is to incorporate green Profit smoothies into my life as an afternoon snack  – I started drinking green smoothies last year because after catching the flu, I just didn’t feel like I was recovering all the way. So, I did a little research – then I bought some kale, a pineapple, and some spinach, and started blending my way to more energy. It helped me feel better, and healthier.  I have moved, and I discovered that I am often super hungry by the time I finish my long commute home - too hungry for grocery shopping or a long dinner prep.  SO, I am going to make my green Profit smoothies the night before, pop them in the freezer overnight, bring them to work with me and put them in the fridge until about 4:00.  Then I will drink it before my drive home.  I will have energy for grocery shopping and a workout when I get home.  :)

Another small step that I am making in this new year is a commitment to return to exercise.  My new home has a dance room in it, and I have now got a space for my ballet barre with a hardwood floor and space to use it!  I am so excited to begin using this regularly again.  I am also so much closer to my family, and my mother has promised to be my walking partner.  So, I am planning to take a walk and/or do a simple barre routine as a minimum exercise each day.

One very exciting wellness resolution is joining It Works Global. My friend, Jen, has been working with them for a while, and she shared with me her excitement over this wellness company. I am very excited to continue  my new journey with her. I will be going to my first Conference in January, and I am sure I'll be learning a lot.  I’m sure that if you keep reading my blog, you’ll hear more about this journey as it unfolds. I have loved the products and people I have worked with so far from It Works, and incorporating the vitamins and supplements into my daily routine.  Please let me know if you are interested in hearing about these fabulous products, or exploring becoming a part of this wellness team.

5 ways to eat more #whole #grains

Today's Healthy-Eating Tip from the Mayo Clinic:

5 ways to eat more whole grains
Whole grains help lower cholesterol and provide a good source of fiber. Increase your consumption with these simple substitutions: 1. Choose breads made from 100 percent whole grains.
2. Opt for whole-wheat over white pasta.
3. Select brown rice instead of white.
4. Trade sugar-sweetened cereals for high-fiber cereals, such as bran flakes, oats or shredded wheat.
5. Bake with whole-wheat flour instead of white flour.

Are your #fitness #goals realistic?

Are your #fitness #goals realistic?

It's easy to get frustrated and give up if your goals are too ambitious in the beginning. If you haven't exercised in a while, a short-term goal might be to walk five minutes once or twice a day, and a long-term goal might be to complete a 5K walk. Whatever your current fitness level is, aim to strike a safe, but challenging balance.
